Matthias Dantone
Matthias Dantone is a Founding General Partner of ellipsis Ventures. He co-founded and led Fashwell, a Zurich computer-vision company that was acquired by Apple, and then led machine learning work at Apple. He was Senior Director of Product Management at Scandit, the Zurich computer-vision scale-up, and holds a PhD in machine learning from ETH Zurich. He is based in Sweden.
At ellipsis, Matthias built much of the fund's AI-native operating stack, works closely with the technical founders in the portfolio, and represents the fund across the Nordic ecosystem.
Investment interests
Machine-learning-first products with a real data moat; robotics and physical AI; developer tools and evaluation for AI systems; and founders who ship. He co-authored the fund's Learning Sessions on agents, world models and robotics.
